First Week

Here is the 1st week of outfit shopping from my closet. Feel free to comment- yea, nay, bleh! etc. Please forgive the bad lighting pictures. Hopefully the other pics will turn out better.

2-22-11 - Tuesday 2-23-11 - Wednesday
Day 1 - Tuesday
(1st day of my work week): Mustard cardigan buttoned as a sweater, black top underneath, grey skirt, black tights & Mary Jane heels, decorated with my pearls and a brooch from Ukraine.

Day 2 - Wednesday:
Jacket (2nd hand), Audrey Shirt with white cami, Black pants & black kitten heels with a necklace I also got thrifting.

2-24-11 - Thursday 2-25-11 - Friday
Day 3 - Thursday:
More relaxed clothes toward the end of the week at work. Red Cardigan over a silky-ish black and white top, added a thick belt to add something to the blouse; dark wash slim jeans with red flats. Accessorized with a black chuncky necklace.
Day 4 - Friday:
Yay for the last day of the work week!! Supported by a fun printed blouse I picked up from Plato's, covered by a dark grey sweater. I normally dont tuck in my shirts but I thought I would try it! Darkish jeans and red wedges finish the ensembley! It wasn't my fave when I left the house, but I was grateful it was Friday!
So ends my first work week of using my clothes to the fullest. We shall see how long I can last wearing, re-wearing, mixing and matching. It's not like I bought clothes all the time but putting a goal of not buying anything "new" for the rest of the year will be a challenge!
Also, I didn't take pictures of what I wore on Saturday because it was Saturday and I really didn't care what I wore. It was my weekend uniform of jeans and a t-shirt. Ahh like the good 'ol days. Til next week!

To Boldly Go...

Without buying new clothes for a year or for the rest of the year that is.

So this is my goal for the remainder of the year - to abstain from purchasing new clothes (and try to abstain from buying used clothes as well). This is so I may use my closet full of clothes to the fullest, also so that my "creative juices" can be used to come up with outfits out of what I have in my closet. One of the best parts of working at a nice place (and my sister can attest to this) is dressing up for work. Though I do miss the days of throwing on jeans and a shirt, it is something exciting when you know you have to look nice when you come to work. When I say nice place, I'm not being snooty, it's just a place where I can't wear jeans and t-shirts everyday.

For this "goal", more like a challenge, will entail that I keep a blog and photo log of my outfits and so I can stick to this and not buy anything. Now I may have to purchase the necessities (underwear and shoes-only because the hubby works at the best shoe store ever, DSW, and we get a sweet discount). But that will only be in the extreeme desperation. I will however, will have to purchase some wares for our upcoming fallish trip to (insert England's National Anthem) UK!! But those I will try to get 2nd hand or my new favorite- pay per pound Goodwill! So let the game begin! Let me know your thoughts. :)
